Last week thousands of techno-files crowded in to the new Apple store on Hay Street. If you haven’t yet checked it out, it is definitely worth a visit. The first thing that struck me (other than the hordes of customers) was the fact there were no tills.Each sales person can process your order where they stand from what is essentially an iPod/iPhone and send your receipt to you by email. Very clever technology.
Just be careful if you are planning to make a big purchase though, I discovered my Macbook Pro was substantially cheaper just around the corner at Dick Smith (although this special offer has now ended). I found the staff weren’t really willing to talk about price matching their competitors.
