There's nothing I like more than a good healthy dose of sexual stereotypes in my literature - you know the type - Men are From Mars & Women are From Venus style summaries of what women (and men) do and don't want.
So I'd be interested to hear what readers think of the release of upcoming book Why Men Want Sex & Women Need Love due to release on - you guessed it - Valentine's Day. Written by husband and wife publishing team Allan & Barbara Pease, this book covers such hot topics as hot to flirt, dating etiquette, what gifts to buy for Valentines Day, why women are insecure about Valentine's Day and how men and women are different.

Tupperware parties for kids
Party plan is a familiar concept to most Australian women - those excruciating parties which you feel obliged to attend and - of course - spend up big. But now party plan giant Tupperware are taking a stab at a new generation of potential party planners - your kids.
Just in case you were struggling to come up with a fun party idea for little Timmy or Tina, Tupperware now have the answer with a Kids Kitchen party they are billing as "an ideal parents group get-together or birthday party with a difference".

How did I live without a handbag converter?
I absolutely love, love, love this stylish idea! I am one of those girls who use the same handbag until it just about falls apart as if I change bags everyday - I forget just about all the essentials I need to take with me. Purse, darn. Mobile phone, I wish. Asthma puffer, wheeze away.
This is why I think ModelCo is on to a winner with this Smart Handbag Converter. This interchangeable pouch has heaps of pockets and compartments for all your essentials (purse, iPod, keys, sunglasses, etc), so when you want to change bags - presto! Just pull out the converter and slip it into another bag that better suits your dress/shoes/eyes/mood.
Be warned though - this pretty is only available from January 31 until February 20 from David Jones. To get one of your own, you just need to spend $49 on ModelCo products, you also get the sample products pictured thrown in. Sounds like a bargain to me, now which bag did I leave my purse in...

Australia Day eggs - what's next?
We've all heard of Easter eggs, I'll even admit an interest boardering on obsession for the annual Darrell Lea Turkish Delight egg. However, this is the first time I've heard of Australia Day eggs.
The Australian Egg Corporation have decided Australia Day is the perfect occassion to celebrate eggs with this 'green & gold' egg recipe. If you want to check out the recipe for The Poached Egg and Spinach Pasta hit the link here.

Planning to renovate? You're not alone!
I am currently in the process of renovating my house. Actually in truth I am not sure if you can call it renovating when in fact we built our house nearly eight years ago and just never got around to finishing it - nonetheless home improvements are on the horizon and it seems I am not alone.
According to a new online consumer poll from Archicentre, more 74% of people intend to renovate their existing homes within the next two years. Only 14.6% would purchase a new property and 10.7% would buy an investment property.

New bridal shop for Subiaco
Over the coming months you will see plenty of wedding related posts from me on this site. Planning a wedding is a strange exercise, it is part wonderful and part terrifying. As someone with some experience in events, media and the wedding industry in general, I will do my best to share my pearls of wisdom as well as links to any great sites I have found, as I get closer to my own big day.
I recently heard about Bride+Groom, a new store opening in Subiaco. I haven't been there yet, but plan to pop in soon. Sounds like a great little place worth checking out for all WA brides-to-be. Check out their website www.brideandgroomstore.com.au for ideas and more info.

Pet's online?
I have to admit if I was looking to add a new furry friend to the family, I probably wouldn't have thought to look online - but it seems I am the exception rather than the rule.
I just received an announcement from online service Pet Rescue (www.petrescue.com.au) that they are about to rehome their 50,000th pet.
Is Plastic Wrap Dangerous?
Is cling wrap and other plastic packaging dangerous? Leading consumer advocacy group Choice seem to think so.
Choice are today calling on the food industry to phase out the use of plastics containing potentially hazardous chemicals in baby products and food packaging. Consumers are being advised to avoid PVC cling wrap, used for wrapping fresh meat and produce, and to consider cutting down on canned foods.

Avatar Number 1 for Australia
Twentieth Century Fox has announce that on Friday ground-breaking 3D film Avatar smashed Titanic's long standing record at the Australian box office to become the number one film of all time. Taking just 22 days to break the previous 12 year record for Titanic, Avatar has exceeded $60 million Australian dollars and now sits at a box office total of $63.1 million. In Australia, Titanic grossed $57.65 million.
Globally, Avatar is now the second highest grossing film in the world. It is also Australia's biggest 3D release ever with 78% of the revenue coming from 3D cinemas.
If you haven't yet seen this incredible film - do. It is really an incredible piece of cinema and really the most ground-breaking film I have seen in many, many years. Do yourself a favour though, make sure you see it in 3D.
